Home Remedy to Kill BedBugs and Their Eggs Forever

Minute as they look and harmless as they appear to be, and they may not be a threat unlike other pests that can disturb your living, the sad truth is bedbugs are probably the most annoying pests your home can have. They infest mostly in the seams of mattresses, box springs, bed frames, cabinets, and headboards and if left undetected, they can attack and cause you small itchy spots, blisters, or red rashes. What is worse is since these pets are too tiny, hence hard to detect, getting rid of them is extra challenging.

Bedbugs do not stay in your place because it is dirty; they stay there because they need shelter. And the only circumstance they can infiltrate your house is if you happen to bring them into your place through infested clothing, furniture, beds, luggage, and other infested items. Since bedbugs multiply fast, it is important to destroy them as quickly as possible. The good news is there are a number of ways to practice bedbugs control and their eggs naturally. Have a sound, uninterrupted, bed bug-less sleep at night with the help of these home remedies below:

  • Diatomaceous EarthThe Use of Diatomaceous Earth – Diatomaceous Earth is a powder that works well to counter quite a number of pest kinds including bedbugs. It is made from the fossil remains of aquatic organisms and it is free of chemicals, hence safe to use. Since diatomaceous earth contains properties that absorb oils and fat from the bedbugs, it will leave them dehydrating to death. To use diatomaceous earth, just sprinkle the powder around the suspected infested area but make sure to wear a mask as you do so to make sure you will not be inhaling it as it can cause damage to your lungs. Give it at most ten days and you will be surprised to see dead bugs after.
  • Operation Vacuum“Operation Vacuum!” – While it helps to wash all the mattresses, covers, linens, and other fabrics you suspect to be infested in the hot water, following it up by vacuuming everything helps ensure that the bed bug infestation is eliminated. Aside from the fabrics, also vacuum the chairs, furniture, and carpets as bedbugs may also be lurking there. Once you are done vacuuming, dispose the vacuum outside of your home.
  • Steam Cleaning – Not all fabrics can be washed by hot water given the circumstance. In this case, steam cleaning can help to entirely eradicate the infestation. This does not only target the living bedbugs, these also damage the eggs as well as the latter would not also tolerate the steam.
  • The Use of Baking Soda – Another powder that can dehydrate and dry the bedbugs out is baking soda. If used enough, this can kill them in the long run. To use, just sprinkle a layer of it on all infested rooms including the walls, doorways, and corners – areas you think have bedbugs. Allow the powder to sit for seven days and then vacuum the remnants right after. You may do this again until the infestation is entirely rid of.
  • The Use of Ginger, Cayenne Pepper, and Oregano Bedbug Fighting Spray – Try this blend out as a lot of experts say the ginger and cayenne’s spiciness along with the strong smell of oregano essential oil can offend bedbugs, eventually eliminating them. The blend consists of ingredients like 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper, 1 teaspoon of grated ginger, 1 teaspoon of oregano essential oil, and 1 cup of water. Just add all the ingredients in a pan on the stove and boil it for about seven minutes. Put the solution into a spray bottle once cooled down and then you can start spraying.
  • fresh tea tree leaves and essential oilThe Use of Tea Tree Oil – Fight bed bug infestation early using tea tree oil. Tea tree oil can be used to kill insects like bedbugs because of its antiparasitic properties. To make a solution, just dilute 20 drops of pure tea tree oil in a spray bottle with water and start thoroughly spraying it on affected fabrics and furnishings especially areas under affected mattresses, curtains, cabinets, and cushions. This method, however, should be used on top and after washing the infested items with hot water and steaming them right after.
  • The Use of Lavender/Peppermint Oil Pesticide Spray – These essential oils works as great as tea tree oil. In fact, these can also destroy eggs of bedbugs. To make the solution, just add 15 drops of lavender oil and another 15 drops of peppermint oil together in a spray bottle full of water. Shake well before spraying and continue doing so until all signs of bedbugs are gone.

Time matters; the later they are addressed, the more they can infest other areas of your home, causing the same major problem. To fight bedbug infestation successfully, you have to do the suggested bedbugs control methods diligently until no sign of their presence is seen or felt.
